API credentials

First of all you need to have username and password from booking.com, that you will receive after the creation of your affiliate account. These data are essentials for connect to the xml.booking.com service that will grant access to the hotel list needed for functionality of this plug-in.

Referral aid

This option will configure the Referral aid, that is a numeric code assigned by booking.com when you subscribe the affiliate account. This is a tracking code that let to see (from booking.com affiliate interface) if someone booked using your referral code and is used for calculate the percentage for the affiliate.

Custom attributes

With this option is possible to set what are the WordPress custom fields used for store latitude and longitude of the post/page. This option will let you to integrate this plug-in with other plug-ins and themes that make use of georeferentiation without need of custom values replication.

You need only to put the name for the latitude and longitude custom fields. As default, these value are set to “lat” and “lng”. If you haven’t any theme/plug-in that manage latitude and longitude values, we suggest to use http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/fields/.

Empty and recall fresh data or just recall another

This option will populate the Hotel database with the hotel details, retrieving fresh data from booking.com XML service. Before configure parameters, be sure to know exaclty the output of these functions.

Here are the configurable options:

• Description Type Ids: description of hotel has description type ids so here specified type id’s description will be concatenated and used as hotel description. Default (suggested) values are 1,6. Available values are:
  1. Hotel information
  2. Room information
  3. Food & beverage
  4. Area information
  5. Travel information
  6. Quick description
  7. Important information
  8. Cancellation Policy
  9. Children and Extra Bed Policy
  10. Photo album
• Select languages: ability data download to selected language(s).
• City Ids: if passed, hotels of those cities ids will be retrived.
• No. of hotels Downloads in one cycle: Hotels data will be downloaded in cycles. Every cycle will download exact no. of hotels supplied here.If you get timeout error in downloading reduce this number to your convinient.

After this setup you can choose two options: you can recall the XML data feed again without empty previous data (using “Just call another”) or empty and get fresh data (using “Empty and recall fresh data”).

Fetch data procedure

 After the successfull download, that will takes a lot (download both text and photos in three formats for every hotel) is possible to see a complete list of the fetched data in the “Hotels” menu.

Search page configuration

Using this option will be possible to set default information about the search page feature.

Is possible to configure the following values:

• Search Results Page: choose, from the list of pages, the search result page with must contain the tag [wp-hotels searchresults]. If you don’t have or haven’t created that page please go to “Pages” in wp-admin and create new page and add the above tag. This is required to display results of search in pages in WordPress.
• Search Title: title for the search results.
• City Ids: in this field is needed to put the cities ids on which the search will be performed, as the method getHotelavailability requires either city-id or discrict-id or hotel-id as input. Before you apply the search form tag and search result tag in search result page, you need to set the city_ids here and save.
